Discover the hair care brand that takes a proactive approach to hair health, strength, and growth.
It’s no secret that over the past decade the hair care industry has exploded with exciting innovation, tech-driven formulations and hydrating and restorative solutions for repair and color retention. Hair growth and health has also been a hot topic in the category with brands creating serums, sprays and even ingestibles to stoke new strands.
Rthvi, the Ayurvedic hair wellness brand started by CEO, founder and certified trichologist Meerika Khanna harnesses the power of ingredients like Aloe Vera Oil, Amla Oil, Argan Oil, Arnica Oil, Ashwagandha Oil, Marshmellow Root Oil, Rosemary Oil and Bhringraj Oil in its products.
The brand’s hero product is the Revitalize Scalp Oil which is formulated with a blend of potent Ayurvedic herbs and essential oils designed to nourish the scalp, strengthen hair roots, and promote healthy hair growth.
“It’s popular because it addresses a common issue—scalp health—which is often overlooked.” Says Khanna. “People see and feel the difference in their hair quality and growth with consistent use. It’s more than just a topical treatment; it’s an invitation to a self-care ritual that supports hair health from the inside out.”
Rthvi’s cultural roots are backed by Khanna’s deep scientific understanding and expertise of the hair and scalp. As a trichologist, she offers education to her patients through her practice and of course through her products, so that hair concerns can be addressed in the most holistic and effective manner.
Here, Khanna delves into the inspiration for Rthvi and how the line nurtures long term hair health.
Get to Know – Meerika Khanna, founder of Rthvi
What inspired you to start Rthvi?
Rthvi was inspired by a desire to modernize and elevate the age-old principles of Ayurveda for today’s world. Growing up in India, I was immersed in a culture where proactive hair care was a norm, not a luxury. I realized that so many of us wait until there’s a problem before addressing our hair health. I wanted to shift this narrative and create a brand that educates people on taking a proactive approach to hair health, strength, and growth. Combining Ayurvedic wisdom with the science of trichology felt like the perfect way to offer holistic, effective solutions that resonate with modern consumers looking for more than just quick fixes.
How is the line different from other hair care brands out there?
Rthvi stands apart by marrying the time-tested wisdom of Ayurveda with modern trichology. While many hair care brands offer solutions for temporary fixes, we focus on a preventive and holistic approach. Our products are designed not only to address immediate concerns but to nurture long-term hair health from the roots. We emphasize transparency, clean formulations, and the use of potent natural ingredients, all backed by scientific research. This combination allows us to offer products that are not only effective but also aligned with the growing consumer demand for clean, conscious beauty.
What led you to become a trichologist? What is the most rewarding and/or important part of your job?
My journey to becoming a trichologist was driven by a deep passion for understanding hair health at a scientific level. I wanted to go beyond anecdotal remedies and provide solutions backed by science. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing people regain their confidence through better hair health. Hair is deeply tied to our identity and self-esteem, and being able to help someone through their hair care journey, to educate them, and to offer them hope and results—that’s incredibly fulfilling.
What tends to be the most common concern among patients?
The most common concerns I see are hair thinning and hair loss, often exacerbated by stress, hormonal changes, and nutritional deficiencies. Many people come to me feeling frustrated and overwhelmed, having tried various products with little success. My goal is to help them understand the root causes of their hair issues and to guide them towards solutions that work not just for the symptoms but for long-term hair health.
What inspires you about the beauty industry today?
I’m inspired by the shift towards more inclusive and conscious beauty. There’s a growing demand for transparency, sustainability, and products that are effective yet gentle. Consumers are more informed and aware, and they’re looking for brands that align with their values. It’s exciting to see the industry evolve to meet these expectations, creating a space for innovation and authenticity.
What do you think the beauty industry could be doing better?
I believe the beauty industry could focus more on education and transparency. There’s so much information out there, but it can be overwhelming and contradictory. Brands need to do a better job of educating consumers, not just selling to them. This means being transparent about ingredients, the science behind products, and setting realistic expectations. Additionally, the industry can work towards greater inclusivity, making sure that all hair types and concerns are addressed with the same level of care and innovation.
