Apply to dry skin and massage in circles to break down makeup and SPF, including long-wear formulas, then add water to emulsify and rinse with lukewarm water. AM: wet skin first, dispense one pump, massage 30 seconds so the yerba mate has a moment to work, then rinse. Pat, don't rub, dry. Follow with eye cream, then night cream.

Chlorogenic acid from yerba mate has been studied for its effect on glycation, the process that stiffens collagen with sugar. Niacinamide measured increases in ceramide and free fatty acid synthesis in its own ingredient studies; on skin that reads as a barrier that looks stronger and tone that looks more even. Rice extract (Oryza Sativa) has been studied on its own for inhibiting MMP-1, the enzyme that breaks down collagen under stress.
